How FORCE by ENPOSS Can Help Households Reduce Costs
The energy price cap for dual fuel bills in the UK has been raised by Ofgem, its independent and impartial regulator, due to take effect between 1 October and 31 December 2024. This change is a response to high costs in the global fuel market, which have increased because countries have experienced harsh climatic patterns as well as unstable political situations; these factors have also made international competition for natural gas more intense than ever before. Wholesale prices of electricity are significantly influenced by changes in gas prices.
An average household using both electricity and gas, and paying via Direct Debit, this revision will lead up to 10% increase in their yearly energy usage bill to £1,717 (€). Despite this rise however, these new tariffs will still be around 6% cheaper compared to the same time last year providing some respite. The price cap set by Ofgem regulates the maximum cost per unit of gas and electricity for about 27 million homes across England, Wales, Scotland protecting households from much of the brunt of volatility within markets.
Increasing costs have led to an increased focus on energy efficiency as a way to minimize costs. One particular example is FORCE management system developed by ENPOSS. FORCE is intended at optimizing electric utilization with an aim of reducing overall residential.
