Placing the solar panels on water will help the cooler air at the surface lower the risk of the overheating panels and a drop in performance.

The world’s largest floating solar project in Dezhou, (in Shandong, an eastern Chinese province on the Yellow Sea) is now complete and online. It is owned by a Beijing – headquartered electric company Huaneng Power International (HPI). This solar farm is on a reservoir that is near a 2.65 GW HPI coal fired power station which is connected to an 8 MWH battery storage and 100 MW wind farm together forming Huaneng Dezhou Dingzhuang Integrated Wind and Solar Energy Storage project.

PV Magazine shares the details: HPI built the solar plant in two phases with capacities of 200 MW and 120 MW, respectively. The first phase, which included the deployment of 8 MWh of storage capacity, was completed in 2020, while the second phase was finished between mid-September and the end of December. The facility is expected to generate around 550 million kWh of electricity per year, the company said, without disclosing additional technical details. Placing the solar panels on water will help the cooler air at the surface lower the risk of the overheating panels and a drop in performance. Reuters writes: A report published this month by researchers at China’s State Grid Corporation said energy security concerns mean the country is likely to build as much as 150 gigawatts (GW) of new coal-fired power capacity over the 2021-2025 period, bringing the total to 1,230 GW. While China is accountable for 50% of global coal – fired generation and the government stating its timeline for reducing coal consumption which is until after 2025 is alarming, these ongoing initiatives will help the country to launch even more renewable projects to reduce coal consumption.

We would also like to introduce our product FORCE which not only helps with energy efficiency but also saves electricity up to 5 – 15%. For anywhere with electricity, Force is an added benefit. Save more electricity with Force for your solar projects and also save the environment.
