Why do we need to think of sustainability

The Earth’s total resources are only enough for 2 billion people at the rate of current demand. Looking at the way we’re living, we have already used up 2 to 3 times more than what is sustainable.

In the ancient times, biomass(wood, timber, and waste products) were the only ways that people used to generate energy (heat). With technology, fossil fuels like coal, oil, and natural gas were discovered. Approximately 80 percent of the total amount of energy used globally each year comes from fossil fuels because they are energy-rich and relatively cheap to process - the human society depends on nonrenewable resources as its primary source of energy.

Why does the need to shift to renewable energy increase day by day? Let’s take a look Renewable and nonrenewable resources are the point from which the energy needed is sourced from. There is a contrasting difference between the two : while renewable sources can naturally replenish themselves the nonrenewable one cannot. This implies that they are limited in supply and cannot be sustainable in the long haul. Our current global population is 7.2 billion and growing. The Earth’s total resources are only enough for 2 billion people at the rate of current demand. Looking at the way we’re living, we have already used up 2 to 3 times more than what is sustainable. If we do not act now, we will witness the consequences of the depletion of natural resources. These include : petroleum/crude oil, natural gas, Earth minerals, coal, groundwater, land surface/soil, plastic, nuclear energy that come from our forests and fossil fuels. The risk of these resources getting expired soon is forcing our scientists to look out for some alternative resources that are : available widely, cause no pollution, and are replenishable.

Alternative energy sources, such as wind and solar energy, are a possible solution to the depletion of nonrenewable sources. Both of these clean energy sources are available in unlimited supply. Every change starts with one step and one action. It starts small and grows big.

We at Enposs have started our part of the action with our energy-saving device “Force” which helps in controlling carbon emissions by reducing energy consumption and your utility bills. We support both traditional forms of energy and renewables.
